Geoff Bain is a retired Airline Training Captain and Flight Simulator Instructor, with 55 years’ experience flying worldwide on 32 different aircraft types and totalling 16,500 hours. He now delivers Human Factors and Safety Management System training for all industries. He specialises in unmanned aerial vehicles, fixed wing and rotary operations developing training programmes.
Geoff has Level 3 Awards in Adult Teaching and Training and Principles and Practices of Assessment (RFQ) (UPPA). He co-wrote the first TQUK Level 5 Award in Drone Operations Management with colleague Mark Blaney (Heliguy Accountable Manager). Together with Mark they have published their first book entitled Managing Safety in the Drone Industry: A Practical Guide.
As an Aviation Industrial Associate to the Aberdeen University, Applied Psychology and Human Factors Group, Geoff is actively involved in writing articles and promoting the aims of this group.
Geoff has also been commissioned by Taylor and Francis to write a series of 10 books entitled "Advances in Industry Application of Drones".
He has also written a fictional adventure novel entitled "The Andulo Diamonds" to be published in 2025 based upon his experiences as a pilot in Angola and Mozambique working with the International Red Cross in the 1980's.
